Nosferatu: a Symphony of Horror with live soundtrack performance by Minima
7.30pm Dir. F.W Murnau – 1922 – Cert.PG – 92 mins Nosferatu is the original Dracula movie – and still, after eighty years, the scariest. F W Murnau’s visionary direction and the chilling performance of Max Schreck in the title role make this an undeniable masterpiece. From The Big Chill and Latitude Festivals, London’s Barbican Centre and Bristol’s Arnolfini gallery, to being regulars at the Shunt Vaults in London, Minima are a must-see outfit, fast becoming a staple on the live music and film scene. Proof of Minima’s wide and growing appeal comes in the variety of venues where they perform: not just cinemas, but clubs, theatres, churches and public spaces. “The atmosphere was absolutely magical – hundreds of people seemed utterly spellbound.” (The East End Film Festival on Nosferatu, 2009)
